MY BACKGROUND
From 2012 Carlie Dinwoodie has been a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) since 2015, bringing comprehensive counselling experience, advocacy and support skills working with children, families, couples and individuals.
Carlie earned a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle. Initially earning a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of the Fraser Valley, Carlie is also a certified Speech-Language Assistant. Working with a variety of clinics and organizations including the Fraser Valley Child Development Center, Carlie has almost 20 years of experience in the Speech and Language therapy filed. Carlie has delivered play therapy services for children under the age of three with their caregivers including the development of Picture Exchange Communication System for clients who are non-verbal, along with delivery of speech services for adult clients recovering from strokes.
Carlie’s background is rooted with community organization history including work with traumatised children in foster care at SOS Children’s Village in BC, advocating, assessment of client strengths and needs to create supportive treatment plans at Langley Community Services Society and delivering support, advocacy and counselling at South Fraser Pregnancy Options Centre.
Also trained a technician in neurofeedback technician, Carlie has extensive continuing education in multiple areas encircling her extend areas of interest.

Certified in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1: Bridging the Couple Chasm,
Carlie has vast array of counselling competencies, extended education in couples, family, parenting, children and trauma, trauma and grief.
